A nostalgic image of a great American brand name.

Some time in the late 80's I was in my high school auditorium. I don't remember exactly why I was there. Maybe I was supposed to be working on something but I was just goofing off. I was curious about the footlights on the stage. They were all closed and for some reason held a great deal of mystery for me. I pried them open one by one with a rusty pair of scissors to see how they worked and what was under them.

It was dusty beneath the footlights and scattered among the dust there were little artifacts that had been lost over the years. There were small props from school plays, bits of paper, pencils, and so on. Out of all these things, the one item that interested me was this bottle cap. It seemed to be ancient and was unlike anything I had ever seen since glass soda bottles were a rarity at this time. The fact that there was a layer of imprinted cork on the back of the cap made it even more interesting.
