"Fall in the Oklahoma Kiamichi Country"
I sometimes find myself lost in the depth, color, and detail of this image. This is one of the better pieces of art I created in the early 1990's.
In 1991, my Freshman year of college, I went on Fall Break with a friend whose parents lived in Idabel, Oklahoma. Idabel is in the Southeast corner of the state near the intersection of Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas. One day during my stay we went on a hike in the Kiamichi Wilderness near their home and it was during that outing that I took this photo. As I recall, residents of this area pronounce the word like “kie-a-MEE-chee.”
I prepared and framed this piece myself but I had the mat cut by a professional. All materials used are of archival quality. The mat is solid white. The frame is made of sturdy wood and painted semi-gloss black. The frame is not sealed with a dust cover and hangs with hooks instead of a hanging wire. The frame includes standard framing glass, not plexi-glass. The print is on Kodak paper and is not signed. Copyright and Title information are not visible.
