All of the art any artist creates is automatically protected under U.S. and International copyright laws. In an effort to further protect my work, many of the image samples on this site include a statement of copyright in the lower right corner of image.

To provide more information about the work, I sometimes include a title, shoot date, and shoot location just below the left corner of the image like the block of text on the left of this paragraph.

Neither of these things are necessary to protect my work under the law. These are just the things I like to see when I look at art produced by other people and I believe some of my customers will feel the same.

However, in an effort to provide customers with exactly what they want, I offer the option of NOT having this information appear on the print. All orders placed on my website are custom printed so this is a service I can provide without much extra work.

Some images that include copyright and title information are slightly off-center vertically in order to accommodate these blocks of text. This looks fine either framed or bare. Images without title and copyright information will be centered on the print both horizontally and vertically.

I don't offer this option on every print in my portfolio. For some prints, especially those designed to be "full bleed," the title and copyright may not be included in the design to begin with or may be so small as to be inconspicuous.

Another thing to remember is that each print comes with a Print Identification Stamp regardless of what's on the face of the print. This small form is attached to the back of the print with acid-free archival tape. The tag is personally signed and gives the title of the work along with the date the print was made and the process used to make the print.
