"Groom is Hell"

This is the first image of graffiti I ever made. Someone I went to high school with (and of course I won't reveal who) created this. The graffiti was located on the back of an abandoned building along the main "drag" of the town and was clearly visible to everyone who passed by, if they cared to look.

In the summer of 1992, scenes for the movie Leap of Faith were being filmed in Groom so I was worried that this graffiti would be painted over or covered up. Somewhat to my surprise, it took maybe ten more years before it disappeared. I'm glad I was able to preserve this for my memories and, hopefully, for the enjoyment of others.
